We loved the unusual angle of this image. The photo leaves the viewer with a sense of the frenetic moment and helps translate the feeling of the animal’s flight and, possibly, fright. The photographer’s approach brought intimacy to the image and gave us the perspective of the animal’s world.

Second Place: 065 • Rick Egan •
It’s a strong moment wrapped within a simple composition. Sometimes all we need to do is get out of the way and allow the moment to speak.

Third Place: 063 • Grayson West •
Kudos for strong content compounded by excellent composition.
HM: 034 • Robert Johnson •
It was a big moment from a news worthy event and the photographer nailed it. This is a photo to enjoy.

HM: 048 • Brent Stevens •
This is a very sophisticated image. We chose this one because we loved it’s strange “quirky” quality and it’s multi-layered story-telling. Composition rules in this image.
All the best,
